Tomatoes and Other Highlights from the Garden

June 29, 2012

We have tomatoes! A couple of the plants have gotten big enough to require staking and some of the little ones that were looking questionable seem to be growing quickly. There are a number of other things doing well.  I made the first harvest of kale yesterday and it was delicious. The dino kale is also really beautiful.  Both the beans and the cucumbers have flowers which bodes well for upcoming crops. It’s a bit tricky to judge the progress of the root vegetables. Unfortunately the radishes keep flowering before the bulb really gets big enough to eat. So far, though, the beets and carrots look healthy. We’ll see in a few months!
