Garden Update: Early Risers, Late-bloomers, and New Arrivals

April 23, 2012

The tatsoi and dino kale, which were among the first things we planted, are looking great!

The strawberry plants are also thriving. I don’t want to speak too soon, but it seems likely our harvest will be significant bigger than last year’s 1.5 berries.

The last variety of tomatoes finally sprouted- about a month after the other varieties. This weekend we’ll work on moving most of the tomatoes into their own containers, but these little guys will have to stay put for a few more weeks.

Newly sprouted since the last post are radishes (which grow incredibly fast), carrots, and beets.

In addition to the invited arrivals, a number of intruders have crashed the party. Weeds are popping out of the yet to be emptied containers and growing at rapid speed. Look at these weeds! They are terrifying.
