Now that I’ve told you about the problems, here are some of the good things that happened this week!

We recently purchased some sprout seeds, and our first crop was ready for consumption on Saturday. They were a delicious addition to a turkey sandwich that also contained some of the homemade pesto featured in a recent post. The sprouts also joined some lettuce and sugar snow peas from the garden in a salad last night.

Other exciting news can be found in the pictures and captions below!
Unrelated to the garden, but the salami in the picture tastes frighteningly like movie popcorn.
We have a new round of lettuce, bok choi, and radishes (not pictured) that are almost ready.
The broccoli is huge (and upright thanks to some creative staking).
We have new bean sprouts (right). The kale is looking good (left), but stopped growing…
so we decided it was time to harvest.
The chives are looking great, and they might be helping to protect the tomato plants from aphids.
Even though we made pesto last week, the basil is ready to harvest again.

And it’s delicious with tomato and mozzarella.

And…we have our first baby tomatoes on the tiny tim dwarf plants!
